Transactions in the Fraud Review (Do not Authorize and Hold for Review action) and Urgent Fraud Review (Authorize and Hold for Review) states on Authorize.net can be manually reviewed and either approved or declined from the Transaction Detail page.
Urgent Fraud Review Transactions
Transactions placed in Urgent Fraud Review have not yet been submitted for authorization. After reviewing, you can either approve or decline the transaction. Approved transactions are sent for authorization and processed as normal. Declined transactions aren't sent for authorization but are stored in the Authorize.net payment gateway as a Decline. If an Urgent Fraud Review transaction isn't approved or voided within 5 days of submittal, the transaction is marked as Expired and isn't available for settlement.
Fraud Review Transactions
Transactions placed in Authorized/Pending Review have been authorized by the processor but not yet submitted for settlement. After reviewing, you can either approve or void the transaction. If an Authorized/Pending Review transaction isn't approved or voided within 30 days of submittal, the transaction is marked as Expired and isn't available for settlement.
Viewing Urgent and Fraud Review Transactions
Manage Transaction Filter Steps:
- Sign in to the Merchant Interface.
- Be on or switched into the New Merchant Interface (2.0)
- Click Payments in the left navigation.
- Click Manage Transactions.
- Click Suspicious filter tab.
- Transactions that need to be reviews will display.
- Quick Filters are provide to switch between Urgent Fraud Review to review requiring review within 5 days or Fraud Review with up to 30 days to take action.
- Click on the Transaction ID to view the transaction details.
- Fraud Check section will provide details on the filter, action and related merchant actions.
- For Urgent Fraud Review Transactions:
- To accept the transaction click Approve, a message window appears asking if you want to continue and click Approve again to do so.
- To decline/cancel the transaction click Reject, a message window appears asking if you want to continue and click Submit Reject again to do so.
- For Fraud Review Transactions:
- To accept the transaction click Approve, a message window appears asking if you want to continue and click Approve again to do so.
- To decline/cancel the transaction click Reject, a message window appears asking if you want to continue and click Submit Reject again to do so.
To take actions on multiple transactions click Approve/Reject at the top right of the table heading. The search will refresh to show only the transactions that an action needs to be taken on to approve to continue the transactions or reject to decline it. Check the box next to the transactions to take an option on and then click Approve or Reject at the bottom right to take that action.
