As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance your payment experience and maintain the highest standards of security and performance, the legacy Virtual Point of Sale (VPOS) system will be sunset and end of life on Dec 30, 2025. It will be replaced by the new Windows Authorize.net 2.0 App.
Key Dates:
- November 17, 2025 The Windows Authorize.net 2.0 app is now live on the Microsoft store.
- Microsoft Store access:https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9pbvfwhf0nmj?hl=en-US&gl=US
- December 30, 2025: After this date, users will not longer be able to log into the legacy VPOS and will need to use the new Authorize.net 2.0 Microsoft Store App.
Why Are We Making This Change?
- End of Life for Current Readers
- Augusta and Chipper 2x readers have reached end of life.
- Chipper 2x is no longer sold, and Augusta will soon be discontinued.
- Manufacturers have stopped providing support for these devices.
- Security & Compliance
- Unsupported hardware poses risks for PCI compliance and transaction security.
- Better Performance & Reliability
- The Windows App offers a faster, more responsive experience with improved stability.

- Free to download with your active Authorize.net Payment Gateway account (standard fees apply).
- Supports the new BBPOS Chipper 3X for enhanced performance and functions.
- Limits: At launch the app is best used by FDC and TSYS merchants as we are working on an update to improve the experience for other connections
