If you need to retrieve the IP address of a customer for any of your transactions, you can find this information in the details of each individual transaction. After accessing the transaction details in the Merchant Interface, the IP address can be located at the bottom of the Authorization Information, just above the Payment Information header.

The customer IP address is automatically populated when you use the Hosted Payment Form.

When using the Authorize.net API, which supports XML, SOAP, or JSON, it is necessary to submit the customerIP element in order to record the customer IP address. For more details, please visit the API Reference.

For the legacy AIM and DPM methods, the x_customer_ip field must be submitted if you want to record the customer IP address.

The Virtual Terminal, Automated Recurring Billing, and Upload Transactions option in the Merchant Interface do not include customer IP address information.

The customer IP address is also utilized by the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite, allowing you to block transactions from specific IP addresses in case of fraudulent activity. For more information, see What Is the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS) IP Administration Tool?
