How to Identify Your Browser Version
Knowing your browser version can be important for troubleshooting web-related issues, or when you need to ensure your browser is up-to-date for security reasons. Here's how to find out what browser version you're using.
Google Chrome
- Open Google Chrome.
- Select the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Hover over "Help" in the drop-down menu.
- Select "About Google Chrome". Your Chrome version number will be displayed on the new page that opens.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Mozilla Firefox.
- Select the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Click on "Help" in the drop-down menu.
- Select "About Firefox". Your Firefox version number will be displayed in the new window that opens.
Safari
- Open Safari.
- Click on "Safari" in the menu bar at the top of your screen.
- Select "About Safari". Your Safari version number will be displayed in the new window that opens.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Click the three horizontal dots in the top-right corner of the browser.
- Select "Settings".
- Scroll down and select "About Microsoft Edge". Your Edge version number will be displayed on the new page that opens.
Note: Not all browsers are listed here. If you're using a different browser, the steps are likely similar. Look for an "About" or "Help" option in your browser's menu.
Caution: Always ensure your browser is up-to-date to protect against security vulnerabilities and to ensure the best performance.
