Your Merchant Service Provider (MSP) acts as your financial institution. They handle the deposit of funds into your bank account and manage your merchant account with Visa and Mastercard, etc. The MSP also charges a percentage discount rate on your batch settlements and may impose transaction processing limits on your account.
Role of Authorize.net
Authorize.net is a payment gateway and does not have visibility into your Merchant Service Provider information. To find your MSP's details, please refer to your merchant statement, which should include their contact information.
Common Reasons to Contact Your MSP
- Inquiring about held fund for credit card settlement.
- Releasing holds on account or funding holds for credit card settlement.
- Changing Funding or Processing Limits: For your merchant account related to credit card transactions.
- Updating Bank Account Information: To change the bank account where funds are deposited for credit card transactions.
- Updating Business Name: To change or update the name that appears on customers' credit card statements.
