This article will guide merchants through details that are provided and viewable in a transaction details.
 
The Transaction Detail page allows you to review the complete details of an individual transaction.
 
To find and view a specific transactions details:
  1. Sign in to the Merchant Interface.
  2. Select Transaction Search from the main menu.
  3. Enter the search criteria/information.
  4. Click Search to display your Transaction Summary.
  5. Click on the Transaction ID value to see the transaction detail page.

From the transactions detail page, you can also do the following:

  • Create an ARB Subscription from Previous Transactions
  • Void a Transaction or an entire order
  • Capture a Transaction
  • Refund a Transaction
  • Approve or Decline a Transaction in Pending Review
  • Approve or Void a Transaction in Authorized/Pending Review
  • Release a Partially Funded Transaction
  • Enter Additional Payments for a Partially Funded Order
  • Print a Receipt
A summary of the transaction and its status is reported at the top of the page.
  • Transaction ID—The unique identification number assigned to a transaction by the payment gateway.
  • Transaction Status—The current processing status of a transaction. For a complete list of possible values, see the topic Transaction Status.
If an order contains several partial payments, the top of the page shows the order number, followed by the order status. All transactions entered for this order are listed, showing Transaction ID, transaction status, and approved amount for each line item. The order number is the same number identified as splitTenderID in Authorize.net's APIs.

Automated Recurring Billing (ARB) Transactions

  • Transaction Type—The type of transaction submitted to the payment gateway. For a complete list of possible values.
  • Subscription Name—The merchant-assigned name for a subscription.
  • Subscription ID—The identification number assigned to a subscription by the payment gateway.
  • Transaction Number—The number of a transaction in the series of recurring billing transactions for a subscription. For example, the number “4” here would indicate that this transaction is the fourth recurring billing transaction for a subscription.
  • Completed Payments—The number of transactions that have been successfully processed for the subscription. If the name of this field is hyperlinked, you can click it to view the Completed Payments page. This page lists all successfully settled transactions belonging to a specific subscription.

Settlement Information

  • Settlement Amount—The total settled amount of a transaction.
  • Settlement Date/Time—Date and time the transaction was picked up and sent for settlement. The time displays according to the time zone set for your account.
  • Business Day—The day that a transaction is batched by the payment gateway and sent to the processor for settlement. In most cases, this should be the same business day the transaction was captured. The end of the business day is defined by the Transaction Cut-Off Time setting in the Merchant Interface. For example, if the transaction cut-off time for your account is configured as 3:00 PM, then all transactions submitted after 3:00 PM are accounted for on the next business day.
  • Batch ID—A payment gateway-assigned identification number that represents a group of transactions gathered for submission to the credit card and bank account transaction processing networks for settlement.

Authorization Information

  • Authorization Amount—The transaction amount sent to the processor for authorization. This amount is reserved against the available balance of a customer’s credit card and might differ from the total amount actually charged to the customer.
  • Submit Date/Time—Date and time the transaction was submitted to the payment gateway. The time displays according to the time zone set for your account.
  • Authorization Code—A code assigned to the transaction by the processor indicating its authorization status.
  • Reference Transaction ID—The original transaction ID of the transaction being refunded. “Not Applicable” appears for all other transaction types.
  • Transaction Type—A Yes (Y) or No (N) value indicating whether the transaction belongs to an ARB subscription.
  • Market Type—Retail for Card Present (CP) accounts. eCommerce or MOTO for Card Not Present (CNP) Accounts.
  • Product—CP (Card Present) or CNP (Card Not Present).
  • Address Verification Status—A code and description that indicate the Address Verification Service (AVS) results returned by the processor for a transaction.
  • Card Code Status—A code and description that indicate the card code verification (CCV) results returned by the processor for a transaction.
  • CAVV Result Code—The cardholder authentication verification value (CAVV) result code from the issuer. Applies only to Verified by Visa transactions.
  • Recurring Billing Transaction—A Yes (Y) or No (N) value indicating whether the transaction is single (N) or recurring (Y).
  • Partial Capture Status—This is specific to Visa transactions. A Yes (Y) or No (N) value indicating whether a partial reversal was executed against a transaction.
  • Customer IP—The Internet Protocol (IP) address from which a transaction is submitted.

Fraud Information

  • Fraud Filter—The Advanced Fraud Detection Suite (AFDS) filter(s) that use common fraudulent transaction indicators as filtering criteria to detect suspicious transactions. For a complete list of possible values, see the topic Fraud Filter.
  • Filter Action—The action taken for a transaction that triggered one or more of the Advanced Fraud Detection Suite filters. One of:
    • Process as normal
    • Authorize and hold for review
    • Do not authorize, but hold for review
    • Decline the transaction

Payment Information

  • For credit card transactions, the following information is displayed in this section:
    • Card Type—The type of credit card or eCheck used for a payment or refund. For a list of possible values, see the topic Card Type.
    • Credit Card Number—The number associated with a cardholder account.
    • Expiration Date—The month and year a credit card expires. This number is fully masked by the payment gateway.
    • Total Amount—The total amount charged or refunded to the customer’s credit card or bank account.
  • For Digital Payment Solutions payments, the Card Type is Token.
  • For eCheck transactions, the following information is displayed:
    • Account Number—The account number associated with a savings or checking account at a financial institution. The checking account number is located at the bottom of a check.
    • ABA Routing Number—The ABA Routing Number is a nine-digit number that identifies the financial institution associated with a bank account. This number is located at the bottom left corner of a check.
    • Name on Bank Account—The full name of the person or business associated with the bank account.
    • eCheck Type—The type of eCheck transaction. This might be automatically selected, depending on the transaction type (charge or refund) and the bank account type used for the transaction. For example, charge and refund transactions to a business checking account will always be CCD.
    • Total Amount—The total amount charged or refunded to the customer’s credit card or bank account.

EMV Information

For EMV transactions, additional tag information is shown. Types of tags include:

  • AID
  • TVR
  • IAD
  • TSI
  • ARC

Token Information

This section is present only if the payment uses an encrypted token in place of credit card information.

  • Token Source—Identifies the issuer of the payment token.
  • Token Number—Masked token number exposing only the last four digits.
  • Expiration Date—Masked expiration date.

Order Information

This section describes specific order information associated with the transaction. If no order information was provided, these fields are blank.

  • Invoice Number—The merchant-assigned invoice number associated with the transaction.
  • Description—A description of the transaction or order.

Itemized Order Information

This section provides detailed information for each item included in the transaction.

  • Item—A short description of an item purchased.
  • Item Description—A detailed description of an item purchased.
  • Item Quantity—The quantity of an item purchased.
  • Unit Price—The cost of an item per unit.
  • Taxable—A Yes (Y) or No (N) value indicating whether the item is subject to tax.
  • The Itemized Order Information section can be viewed or hidden by clicking either View Itemized Order Information or Hide Itemized Order Information, respectively.

Customer Billing Information

This section describes the customer's billing information associated with the transaction. The fields in this section include:

  • Customer Name, Company, Address, City, State/Province, ZIP Code, Country, Phone Number, Fax Number, Email Address, Customer ID, Customer Type.
  • If no customer billing information was provided for the transaction, these fields are left blank.

Shipping Information

This section describes the shipping information associated with the transaction. The fields in this section include:

  • Customer Name, Company, Address, City, State/Province, ZIP Code, Country, and Phone Number.
  • If no shipping information was provided for the specific transaction, these fields are left blank.

Additional Details - Level 2 Data

This section describes additional information that might be associated with a transaction. This information is typically entered to support Level 2 Data requirements for credit cards.
  • Tax—An additional fee to cover state or other merchandise tax. This fee must be included in the total amount of the transaction.
  • Freight—An additional fee to cover the merchant’s shipping costs. This fee must be included in the total amount of the transaction.
  • Duty—An additional fee for imported or exported merchandise. This fee must be included in the total amount of the transaction.
  • Tax Exempt Status—A Yes (Y) or No (N) value indicating whether the transaction is tax exempt.
  • Purchase Order Number—The transaction purchase order number.
If no Level 2 data was provided for the transaction, these fields are left blank.

PayPal Information

If the transaction was a PayPal Express Checkout transaction, the following details are displayed.
  • Success URL—The merchant is redirected to this URL if the transaction is successful.
  • Cancel URL—The merchant is redirected to this URL if the transaction is unsuccessful.
  • Secure Acceptance URL—Contains the URL to a payment form which can accept payment details in a secure fashion.
  • Customer PayPal Payer ID—Contains the Payer ID of the customer, returned by PayPal. This will only be returned if the customer has visited the PayPal payment form using the URL returned in the SecureAcceptanceUrl field of the AUTH_ONLY response, and logged in. Otherwise, this field will not be returned.
  • Pre-Auth Request ID—This ID is returned by PayPal.
  • Authorization Request ID—This ID is returned by PayPal.
  • Authorization ID—This ID is returned by PayPal.
  • Capture Request ID—This ID is returned by PayPal.
  • Capture ID—This ID is returned by PayPal.
