Key Dates:
- July 15, 2025: Legacy apps will be removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. They will no longer be available for download after this date.
- August 29, 2025: Support for legacy apps ends. Payment processing through these apps may not be possible after this date.
- Nov 3, 2025: After this date, users will not longer be able to log into the legacy mPOS app and will need to use the new mPOS app.
Authorize.net 2.0 Mobile Point of Sale (mPOS) App

- Offers a more secure, reliable, and user-friendly experience for processing credit and debit card transactions.
- Free to download with your active Authorize.net Payment Gateway account (standard fees apply).
- Compatible with existing BBPOS Chipper 2X card reader but highly recommended for merchants to move to BBPOS Chipper 3X.
- Supports the new BBPOS Chipper 3X for enhanced performance and functions (ex: Tap to Terminal and in the future Tap to Pay).

How to Upgrade
- Download mPOS 2.0 from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Connect your card reader. The app auto-registers it.
- If prompted, select Check Now to update your reader’s firmware.
- If your reader fails to update, contact support for troubleshooting.

- Will my printer still work with mPOS 2.0?
- Printer compatibility may vary. Test your setup or contact support for guidance.
- What happens if I delete mPOS 1.0?
- You cannot reinstall it. You must switch to mPOS 2.0.
- What card readers are compatible with the app and is EMV supported?
- Compatible swipe readers can be found and purchased through our partner, POS Portal. EMV chip-enabled card readers are also available from POS Portal. For more information on Authorize.net EMV support see: Merchant EMV Chip FAQs.
- If you are currently using Wells Fargo or PaySafe as your merchant service provider, please contact their support to get further information on obtaining a card reader.
- You must be on a supported processor (TSYS, FDC) to accept EMV chip transactions using the mPOS mobile app.

- Can I use a receipt printer with the app?
