The Transaction Detail page allows you to capture an authorized transaction that is pending settlement and submit it for processing. If the option is available, the Capture button appears at the top and bottom of the Transaction Detail page.

To capture a transaction:

  1. Log into your Merchant Interface.
  2. Click Search from the main toolbar.
  3. Click Unsettled Transactions.
  4. Click the Transaction ID for the transaction that you wish to capture.
  5. Click Capture.
  6. If necessary, edit the amount to be captured in the Settlement/Capture Amount text field. The amount may only be modified to be less than the original amount of the authorization.
  7. Click OK to continue with the capture.

The Transaction Detail page reappears with the transaction's status changed to Captured/Pending Settlement.

To be able to capture a group of transactions or capture a lesser amount than the transaction was authorized for, please do the following:

  1. Log into your Merchant Interface.
  2. Click Search from the main toolbar.
  3. Click Unsettled Transactions from the menu on the left.
  4. At the top of the page you will see a drop down menu that says Filter By.
  5. Click the drop down menu and choose Group Capture.
  6. Click View.

    Your Unsettled Transaction list should change to a list with check boxes to the left of the transactions and amount fields to the right.

    On the right, you have the option to change the amount to anything less than the amount you have already authorized the card for. For example, if you authorized for $30.00, you may change that amount to anything less than the $30. However, you cannot change the amount to $31.00 or anything more than the amount authorized.
     
  7. On the left of the transactions are check boxes. When you mark these boxes and click the Capture button at the top of the column of check boxes, you will capture the transactions for the amount that you have specified. If you would like to select ALL transactions, please check the Select all box.
  8. Once you have captured the transactions and you want to go back to the default Unsettled Transactions screen, just click the Unsettled Transactions link. That should bring you back to the normal screen and you should be able to see that your transactions have been captured. They should state: CAPTURE/PENDING SETTLEMENT (and not AUTHORIZED/PENDING CAPTURE).

NOTE: If the transaction has already been captured for a dollar amount, that amount cannot be changed. Also if the transaction has settled and is no longer in your unsettled transactions, you cannot use the group capture option.
