Capturing Funds for a Transaction

If you need to capture funds for a transaction that was authorized outside of the Authorize.net gateway, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to the Merchant Interface.
2. Click Tools from the main toolbar.
3. Select Virtual Terminal from the main left side menu.
4. Choose Capture Only as the Transaction Type.
5. Enter the required information for the transaction. The following fields must be filled:
   • Transaction Amount
   • Credit Card Number
   • Credit Card Expiration Date
   • Authorization Code
6. Click Submit.

Be aware that by processing a Capture Only transaction, your Merchant Service Provider may charge you a slightly higher discount rate as this process bypasses a security measure.
