Answer

When submitting transactions as "Authorize Only" (What are the transaction types that can be submitted to Authorize.Net?), a follow-up action of "Capture" is needed for the transaction to settle and fund. This can be done via the Merchant Interface or API to perform a Prior Auth Capture" for the full amount or a lesser amount.

Multiple captures shouldn't be performed on the same authorization code, even if they total the full amount. If multiple captures are performed, there are risks of encounter higher processing fees, funding issues, or a bank-initiated chargeback with applicable chargeback fees.

It is recommended to only use an authorization code once, and if addtional charges are needed, to submit a new authorization and capture request/transaction.
